The stern of heuen modre Marye
That with hir mylke fed cryst ihesu
Of deth that Adam folily
Had plantid she the roote vp dreu
That same stern wochsaue she now
The sterns aboue to stil and pees
Whoso stryfe and batailles as is to trow
Arn cause of folkes dedely dissees
